The parasite protocol that many breeders in the US and UK follow involves treating all kittens with Baycox for Coccidia before showing any symptoms.
These same breeders use caution and test before bringing cats into their catteries, but things can and do happen.
Additionally, testing for coccidia does produce false negatives and cats can be shedding oocysts in the stool, I believe, without showing clinical symptoms or showing symptoms believed to just be IBD.
I would extend QT for any cat showing diarrhea regardless of negative test results, and I have done so in the past until it was proven to be sensitivity to a certain food
